    Great shave and scent

Love this product! Smells great, and conditions my skin. You only have to use a small amount to get a great shave.

I was wrong about this product.

When I first got it, I was disappointed. I wanted to dip my brush in a little bit and make a thick lather. Well it ruins brushes as you only apply by hand. HOWEVER.....It works as a pre-shave. As a matter of fact....it beats Proraso pre-shaves and I have all of them. I have the most sensitive neck you have ever seen. It literally smoked it and uses a little less. After you wet your face you simply rub this in and it softens and whiskers and moisturizes so much that my skin just drinks it up. I also live the smell. I never hated it. They are using the vanilla scent found in the vanilla aftershave. I goes good with classic clubman aftershave. You can mix your lather with your favorite cream or soap as you regularly do and apply by brush. The stuff will not get stuck in your brush if you are thinking that. At the price they are asking, this is a bargain since you are using less than it's intended purpose. A bunch of other men are also discovering this secret. So get it now before the price goes up, volume shrinks, and is relabeled "Clubman Pre-Shave"

    I love the stuff

I don't understand why people are having such a difficult time with this stuff. Yes, you do not lather with a brush. Instead, wet your face really well, and massage a liberal amount of this onto your face. That's it! I use a shavette with Shark razors and I love how well the blade glides through the facial hair. No razor burn at all. You get a lot of cream for the money, and a little goes a long way. I will absolutely buy this again when I run out.

    NOT a lathering cream

Posted by Unknown on 17th Dec 2015

ok a couple caveats.. i'm still using a feather blade which i am NOT use to. first shave was with a 4 day growth set the fat boy to 3 , did a hot water wash and soak with a hot washcloth, applied per directions. not the closest shave i have had, and had 2 nicks on my upper lip all in all I won't complain for a one pass shave. I do like the scent but it could be stronger. I did not massage it in per the tub. i washed my face because it felt like suntan lotion on my face. followed up with the traditional after shave. Anne likes the scent and is ok with the shave. Second shave. fresh out of the shower, did not soak/ wet my beard. used 6 drops of the oil then the cream, again as directed. this is the flipped side one of the feather.a nick on my chin and not a bad shave. the oil made a difference for sure. again I cleaned my face for the traditional aftershave. one thing that bothers me is that it's so thin when applied, that it's easy to miss especially if you shave daily.. I missed part of my chin, or i did not get it well. I definitely would prefer something to lather and use warm. adding cold cream to a hot prep is definitely counter intuitive will I use the product? yes. will I buy again? no. I expected a produclt like taylor of old bond ts or proraso, a dab on your brush some hot water make a lather. i would not use this without the oil, either

Not sure how to rate this

First shave with this shaving cream today. When I opened it up I was disappointed it didn't have the classic Clubman Aftershave scent. It smells good, but not what I expected. Then I loaded my brush with it and hit the scuttle to build a later. Big mistake that took forever to get cleaned out of my shaving brush. This cream is meant to be applied with your hand or I guess you could smear it on your face with a brush but it basically smears on your face like if you rubbed Noxema all over your face. No thick lather. This cream is similar to shaving with a shaving oil. I slathered it on my face with my hands but then my hands were so slick it was hard to hold my razor. Did not like this. Did get a very smooth and clean shave though! After the shave was done I was still disappointed with the experience and splashed some Clubman on my face. After about 10 minutes though I noticed that the scent of this cream really compliments the Clubman aftershave. Here it is like 9 hours later and I still can easily smell the scent of these products. I am not sure if I will buy this again as it just isn't for me but it is indeed very slick and smooth and gives a great shave. I just wish I could load my brush and apply a thick lather. Guess I will see what the shave soap is like when it comes in.

This is an excellent shave cream; comparable ones are sold at much higher prices. While it appears thin and watery, it spreads evenly and quickly and provides excellent protection and moisturizing., and will not clog your razor. Those who expect to find an overpower dose of Clubman fragrance will be disappointed. It has a very mild fragrance that does not linger, which is ideal for those with sensitive skin. To me, it smells lightly of lavender and vanilla. My very sensitive skin suffered no irritation but was treated to hours of comfort. It will not clash with aftershaves or colognes. I strongly recommend this for anyone who wants an excellent shave with a modern product with an old-time barber shop feel. Note: I don't believe this is the cream that those who use a brush would use.
