Not all Clubman fans are the age of your grandfather. We wanted to learn more about the younger Clubman guy and today profile Jimmy Cash from the Boston area.

Who introduced you to Clubman products?

My great friends Knocko Nolan and Danny Boy O'Connor introduced me to Clubman. Before that I always thought it was an unattainable scent that I could only wear with pride after a visit to the local Barber Shop. 

What Clubman products do you use now?

I've been using the classic  Clubman Aftershave Lotion, Clubman Molding Putty for hair and its Talc. 

What's the lifestyle of a younger Clubman fan?

My lifestyle as young Clubman consists of being a good role model to my daughter. This includes staying well groomed, hard work and exercise. I also like to travel, explore and listen to good music. I'm an avid snowboarder. Other brands I enjoy are Gold Bond and Barbasol but no one compares to Clubman. 

What are your passions?

I'm passionate about traveling and also exploring with the Delta Bravo Exploration Team. Visiting significant historic locations and researching the history of the region. Trying new and old food joints is another favorite. I also do a lot of reading and working out. I've been spent the past year working on stand up comedy in the Boston area. 

What are your fav drinks?

Favorite drinks are Polar Seltzer, Cafe Bustelo and New York Egg Creams. 

What sports teams do you follow?

New England Patriots, Boston Celtics 

Any suggestions for future Clubman products?

I'd like to see some sort of Clubman clothing apparel so we can represent. Some kind of mousse or aerosol shaving cream can would cool.

What percentage of men wear scents like cologne? Good question. Inquiring minds want to know.

When you Google it, the answer is  63% occasionally and 23% all the time.  See graphic above. Apparently the stat does not include aftershave or body sprays.

Now the  Wall Street Journal uses a different source,: "In a report from market researcher Mintel, 55% of men said they wear cologne."

The discussion board Basenotes, "loving perfume on the internet" has a  thread on the topic. 

• In discussions on this board, American guys from Minnesota and Oregon are guessing in the 10% range, plus or minus. ("I think even adding in deodorant and antiperspirant- daily - - you might get to around 20% .") 
• A man from Puerto Rico says 15% here. 
• Singapore says 0, nobody.  
• Abu Dhabi says "110% of men here. The 10% is the overflow of influence onto expatriates here."  
• Germany suspects "daily use, no; aftershave < 5%; on special occasions < 10%."  
• Spain claims 80%, "but if you discount the people who has less than 2 bottles and this bottles are le male or Hugo boss the number decreases to 10%."

Smells very good and feels good on the skin. I will say the scent was different from what I was expecting. I did not detect as much of a rum smell as I was hoping for, but those expectations were mostly based on my own homemade spiced rum aftershaves I have made in the past. I did add just a touch of my spiced rum to it to give it more rum on the bottom-end. Nevertheless, it's still very good. Will buy again.

Clubman Bay Rum is a superior product. Have tried other brands, but Clubman has them all beat, hands down. The scent is a robust spicy blend, that will last all day. Others fade in a few hours. I began using my dad's bay rum before going on a date in high school back in the early '60's and have used it ever since. It was always the bay rum that came in a bottle wrapped in a wicker basket. Now that I'm retired, I began searching for a quality product without the fancy packaging. This is it! For those of you that are skeptical, fill your empty wicker bottle with Clubman and you'll never know the difference.

i realy enjoy using this aftershave. I use to buy it in drug stores and havent been able to find it any where. I looked it up on line and there it was.

One of the freshest after shaves you will ever buy. If you want the sissy lotion stuff then stay away from this. If you want a nice burn that will finish off as a refreshing cool then this product is for you. Burns like heck, but finishes off real cool and smells great.

Just used this today at an after work social this is a real attention getter you don't need much either. It has a strong staying power but isn't overpowering.

The smell is a mixture between the original Pinaud classic barbershop smell and ginger bread cookies with nice spice notes. The ladies love too got some compliments on this one. 5 star all the way.

A few challengers are a close second like Ogallala and Captain Choice but this Bay Rum is still tops in my humble opinion. This splash is definitely not for sissies, so if you are scared of a little sting after a nice double edge shave, then this is not the splash for you, perhaps you would do well to use Oil of Olay or some other feminine cream. This one is for men. Contains bay rum oil straight from the Virgin Islands. It will soothe, tone and refresh your face and leave its irresistible scent that lingers longer than most other BR's.

So if you want to smell trendy, hip and just like you came back from a Justin Beiber concert, skip this. If you want a traditional bay rum aftershave designed by men for men, you have come to the right place.

Pinaud (pronounced Pee-Node) has been around for a long time and is still the reigning champion.

This hard to find bay rum aftershave is a very pleasant smelling, soothing splash. I have tried a few others (Gabels, Ogallala, etc), but I am still sold on Pinaud's version.

Pinaud's Clubman is also a classic that I alternate between shaves as it is also one of the best. Kudo's to a great product that has stood the test of time.

If you want to smell 'trendy' that attracts Justin Beiber followers than this product is not for you. This is for men only.

Sure, sure you know how to use aftershave and wear cologne.  How tough can it be?

Well, maybe you might have missed a step.  Maybe there were a few tips your Dad or best friend never shared.

Aftershave and Cologne Mistakes

Here are common mistake us guys make when using aftershave or cologne. 'Fess up. Are you guilty of any?

1. Wearing the same scent every day. You don't want to be dull and predictable, do you?  Change it up.  We've got a post on how to choose the right scent for your day to help you out.
2. Never using an aftershave or cologne.  Come on, up your game. Become a gentleman.
3. Wearing too much scent. OK, men, bathe with soap, not your scent. Also, we hear tell that as a gentleman ages, his sense of smell diminishes and he inadvertently puts too much on. Heads up, boomers.
4. Wearing a scent that smells great on your buddy but terrible on you. Everyone's body chemistry is different.  Also the scent will smell different initially than it does after the alcohol wears off. Get your woman's opinion too.
5. Putting your scent in the wrong spots. Aftershave goes on the face, guys, but cologne goes on your neck, chest and wrists. No cologne on your face! See this GQ guide to mens cologne for more tips.
6. Not using up your aftershave or cologne before it goes bad.  Don't buy so many that you can't use them up in a year or so. Or discard and try something new if you are not wearing it.
7. Keeping your cologne in the bathroom. The heat and humidity of a bathroom are not a friend to scents. Your aftershave should be there, but ideally your cologne is on the dresser, away from the heat. Clubman Fan Christopher Prusso offers this tip to preserve scents longer - decant Clubman's plastic bottles into glass containers.
8. Wearing scents that clash. Clubman Bay Rum Aftershave probably does not work with a Clubman Citrus Musk Eau de Cologne. Keep to one scent theme.
9. Splashing cologne or aftershave on a cut. Ouch!! Enough said. (Dab On Nick Relief, anyone?)

Once a package is out of our door it is in the hands of the shipper. We use both UPS and USPS and they are both, generally, very reliable. It is our experience that UPS has a better tracking system for lost packages. If tracking says your package was delivered but you do not have it we suggest these steps:

1. First double check that someone else in the household did not receive it and put it somewhere out of site. "Survey Says" this is the number one culprit.
2. Assuming the package is truly not there, the customer first needs to contact the shipper and verify the delivery and possible placement of the package (porch, behind screen door, etc...). 3. If this still does not turn up the package, contact us as explained below and we will contact the shipper and put a tracer on the package if appropriate.
